The 2023 USMC Junior & 16U Nationals tournament was held at the Fargodome on the campus of North Dakota State in Fargo, ND.  It has been the major event of the summer for USA Wrestling for the past 52 years. It is one of the most competitive and prestigious tournaments in the country.

The top wrestlers in the country for the Junior and 16U Divisions come to Fargo to compete for National Titles and All-American status in Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling. Each wrestler must qualify for their respective state national team or qualify through the automatic bid process.

Wrestling University had several wrestlers who qualified and competed in Fargo, ND July 15-22, 2023. These wrestlers are Michigan National Team members and put it on the line against the best in the country. All these wrestlers participated in our spring/summer sessions and represented Michigan on the national stage. We celebrate the accomplishments of these wrestlers.  

Junior – Freestyle

Cory Thomas, Jr – (Pontiac) - 160 lbs. - All-American (7th) 

Cory had an outstanding performance in Fargo finishing 7th in the 160lb Junior Division. Cory was the only wrestler from the State of Michigan to place in the entire Junior Division.  

16U – Freestyle

Deacon Morgan-(Rochester Adams)-National Team -100 lbs.

Archer Anderson-(Clarkston)-National Team–120 lbs.

Jace Morgan–(Rochester Adams)-National Team-132 lbs. 

Junior – Greco

Brock Trevino–(Clarkston)-National Team-182 lbs.
